Hello from TradeCue
Why QR codes
Every room on a residential jobsite is already a work unit — framing crews, plumbers, electricians, drywallers, painters, tile setters, and a dozen other trades cycle through it over the course of months. Each trade needs the same three things when they arrive:
- What, exactly, am I supposed to do here?
- What materials / finishes does this room specify?
- Where do I report when I’m done?
Builders today solve this with paper punch lists, group texts, and the PM’s memory. None of those scale. TradeCue’s premise is simple: one QR per room, re-pointed at the next step as work progresses, with the spec in hand every time a trade scans it.
How it works
// Every room has a persistent QR that's printed once and stays on the wall
// for the life of the project.
const cue = await db.getLocationCue(locationId);
// The QR points at whichever step is live right now. PMs re-point it as
// work progresses — the QR itself never changes.
await db.setActiveStep(cue.id, nextStep.id);
When a trade scans the QR, they see the structured materials, the instructions, and the checklist for the currently active step — not whatever stale PDF they got emailed three weeks ago. When they’re done, they snap a photo and submit. The PM approves from the dashboard. The audit trail is atomic.
What’s next
We’re in early access. Get started if you’re a builder or PM running more than three concurrent projects and tired of the group-text coordination loop.
